I am wondering what the laws for pennsylvania concerning tint are. I got pulled over and the guy is making me take ALL my tint off. Even my back window. TIA!!

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN PENNSYLVANIA? Windshield No tint is allowed on the windshield. Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in. Back Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in. Rear Window Must allow more than 70% of light in.

About the law, Im not sure what it is. I've been ticketed elentybillion times over the years. Let me guess, your ticket is for $95 or so? It seems in pennsylvania, it all depends on which cop you happen to get. One FACT for you though...If the cop did not use a 'meter' (not sure what its called) to check the actual percentage, you can not be found guilty. Take it to court and say you didnt know what the legal % and the officer didnt use the light-o-meter thingy?! They have no proof of your tint darkness. No matter what the law is.

yeah but you better rip off the old tint and get legal tint installed before you fight the ticket, they'll go out into the parking lot and test it on the spot; thats what they did to me.

The light absorbance/transmitance testing device should be some kind of spectrophotometer. We use them in my chem lab all the time.
