#97920, "window sealing and rattling promblem"

Like every other 2g, mine rattles like hell. Especially my drivers side window. Now, i've researched the forums and i think i know how to fix it pretty well. But the promblem is that when i put my window up, it sticks out like 1/4in. and the wind catches it and it rattles like a mofo. Do i just take it somewhere to fix it or is there a way to do it myself?? Thanks.

Well sort of. Pretty much all eclipses rattle but my window doesn't even come against the rubber stuff on the top. There's a 1/4in gap that lets water in and stuff.

mine has no gap but the drivers side window rattles and its quite annoying. Is there any way to tighten the window so it has less play?

I fixed mine awhile back and all I did was took the door panel off and adjusted the bracket things with the black felt pads the window slides between. If you roll the glass down all the way and look through the top between the window trim, you can see them. They ARE a pain to get adjusted right. Oh, I also took them out and wrapped and sewed some black felt I got from Hobby Lobby around em and that made a big difference too.

Your windows should not be rattling and they should not be off track.

Take off your door skin, there are bolts that from the ouside, seem to be holding nothing. Theese are infact holding your window track and various bumbers that push and hold your window.

It Is rattling from going on years without being tightened or adjusted. I wouldnt be surprised if some of you are missing the bolts completely, check the bottom of your door for them.

My windows never rattle or so much as move... people close and open the door by holding the glass...thats your biggest problem. I make sure to tell all my passengers, DOOR only.

Word to your mother. I was just going to suggest this. I sternly reprimanded anyone who closed my doors by the glass and kept it to a minimum. As such, I went over ten years and 200,000 miles on Daisy before my driver's window went to hell. The gear is stripping out, so I said "Hell with it," and put the car in the garage... for the rest of the year, I guess.
