Has anyone ever baked apart their tail lights; either factory or aftermarket? If so, is the procedure the same?

I haven't done it personally but the proceedure should be the same, I think I remember reading that they are a little easier to melt so take it slow and carefully. Altezzas defiantely will be more delicate than oem.

The centerpiece comes apart without baking, just be really careful, because it cracks kinda easily.

Here was my reply to that question from a previous thread....

Don't treat these parts like you are popping open headlights. The tail lights are way more sensitive to overheating and warping. The taillight lenses are thinner and made of a different material than headlight lenses. They are not designed to take the bulb heat and rock impacts that a headlight lens has to survive.

I heat the part multiple times and proceed slowly. I don't go over 200F while baking and like suggested do NOT leave the oven turned on while the part is in there. Pre-heat the oven, turn it off and then insert the part. Once the sealer has softened in about 5-10 minutes, gently start to lift at the pointy end. Do NOT force it or you will see a crack shoot across the lens and ruin it. I use popsicle sticks to help hold the lens up out of the glue and then put it back in the oven for a few cycles until it all release cleanly. Most people crack or warp a taillight on their first try so be prepared.
