Everyone that has painted there talon taillights red on top where the amber color is, what brand is the red translucent paint and where did you get it? Also do you just lightly sand the top of the taillights and spray them?

There's a Testors translucent and there's also a Krylon stained glass paint that can be had at Hobby Lobby.

Did you use a clear coat over it or just sand and krylon paint?

Pssh, no idea. I just know the paints.

If you're signed up on tuners, I know there's a lot of threads dealing with this info.

I think the company that makes Nightshades makes a red translucent paint also. When I nightshaded my side markers I just sanded a little, cleaned them, did a couple coats of the paint, and then a couple coats of clear coat. Turned out pretty nice IMO.

I'd reccomend getting an automotive clear coat for added protection.

Maybe if you brought them in to a paint place, you could get the top layer of a candy paint over it (red candy). emoji Top coats of a candy paint job are translucent so it could possibly work. Not sure if a red would turn out good over an amber bottom. Maybe if you could do enough coats, it could work.

Just an idea that came to me while reading it.

i painted my orange tops, and then blended it with the bottom, its entirely red. I used the candy apple red and then got it sprayed with a tinted clear (friend does automotive paint)

its fuckin sick!
