Alright... I built a new enclosure for two 15" Orion H2 subwoofers and I made it as large as possible to get the best sounding setup. Anyway.. I had to take all the plastic pieces out to make it fit so I wanted to put carpet padding (have some left from carpetting my house) over the entire trunk and carpet the entire thing. I'll post some pics of what it looks like now.. but what do u guys think? anyone else do this?

here's some pics of what it looks like right now. Silver stuff is sound deadener. It's ghetto as can be tho.. cardbaord and duct tape someplaces.. lol. My problem is getting the carpet to "stick" to this stuff... should i put fiberglass over it instead?

you can use a spray on contact cement (through a compressor not the aerosol cans) but with all those curves your gonna have to use stretch carpet not cut pile, like the front. Fiberglassing would be more convinient but personally I would cover the plastic panels with stretch carpet instead, if you want to go that route, it would hold its shape better, and also aid in sound deadning, where as fiberglass would probably echo back there, but I'm no expert in fiberglass work, I did interior for a while, and know the way carpet works.

Thanks for the advice. I was going to use the aresol spray on adhesives and very thin stretchable carpet.. are the spray cans really that bad? If I did use carpet (I think I probably will), would it be best to lay it down as one big piece or cut it into pieces... like do the bottom then do each side?

What if I did the whole thing with vinyl (the fake leather looking stuff)? You think that could work too? It's gonna suck no matter what with all those bends.

stretch carpet is your best bet its like cotton you can pull it any which way, holds together nice in bends, pile carpet will wrinkle, vinyl will be even worse, unless you have LOTS and LOTS of patients and spare time. Do the bottom as a hole, and then the sides, cut into as few pieces as possible but the stretch will come together nicely in cuts, its all about time and patients you could cut it out like a puzzle and make it look like a full piece if you had the time and know-how but its def not gonna be fun with vinyl
