Actually there are quarter panels in carbonfiber.

Its in the Dry Carbonfiber form, There's an EVO Ix o X that's completely done in dry carboonfiber was at time attack in Takuba.

I'm going to make a carbon fiber unibody!

I think carbon doors are a serious waste of money unless you are extremely concerned with weight reduction.

Our car is a unibody. There is no such thing as a quarter panel.

That is, unless you're talking about the front fender.

Haha. You guys are funny. I've been telling people about this for over three years now. Squidskins, up in Canada has been selling the entire 2GB Talon body kit (aside from the rear quarters) made in fiberglass or carbon fiber for something like four years, now. Easily.

Those are a rip-off. Maybe it's a complete door made from CF, in which case you're dead in any side-impact, but if this is something you're really interested in, you should be contacting squidskins.

www.squidskins.com/eagle/index.htm Squidskins offers the hood, hatch, doors, side skirts, fenders, front and rear bumper covers, mirrors, and even dashboard in CF.

I've spoken with the owner and he's told me that, with the entire kit installed on "The Archer Car" (below), they shaved 600lbs off the weight of the car. For a consistant driver, that's over a half a second off your E.T.s.

I just don't get why someone would freak out over the chance to spend over $3000 for something that has been around for more than four years and is currently selling for far less. If I remember right, you could get the entire kit from squidskins for less than $5k USD.

Those doors went to some retard with a trailer queen show car who doesn't know any better. Fools and their money. Fools and their money...

EDIT: The winning bidder's last purchase? A $50 set of Altezzas. I rest my case. Furthermore, if you've got a bike, you might want to check out the squidskins site even more, since they really specialize in farings for street bikes, CF brakes and adjustable suspensions. They've been in business since 1994 and have several Canadian championships to their name. Not exactly fly-by-night...

the doors of a uni-body car are not structural anyway. some have side impact protection, but for the most part...any uni-body car's door will do the same thing as a CF one would do.

the advantage is weight, if you want to make sure youll be OK in case of a violent crash....build a cage.

I don't think the primary concern of impact would be structural integrity, more the fact that now you are out a $400 to (apparently) $1200 door. At least thats my main concern.
