#95914, "Center console..under armrest space?"

Could anyone tell me if there is about 2" high X 10" long space in the center console underneath the armrest? Or is that area occupied by some factory widget soemthing or other?

Thanx!

Aaron, actually I meant under the tray/console enitirely.

joeck76...ok thanx...well that pretty much shoots my idea down entirely. LOL

I just thought that spot would be a good place for my carPC, with it's front facing the back seats so I could have easy access to the DVD rom and front USB ports and be super stealthy.

you could relocate the airbag module to behind where the radio goes. I actuall ythought about mounting my Car PC there too.

Any idea how much of a pain that would be? And is there any danger of setting off the air bags if I start f'n with that stuff? That would be bad. LOL

Thanx for the tip Terry...will do.

Aaron. I won a premade one on ebay for 400 bucks. It is all but new. It came with a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I didn't even really want to spend the money...but I saw it on there with a starting bid of 400 and I put like a $410 bid on it and no one else bid on it. I was like oh shit. LOL

It has the Travia c134a case for reference...do a search for my user name in the audio section for a thread I started when I first got it if you want more information.

Relocating the srs modual should be no sweat compared to hooking up your pc however a thing to keep in mind, im not 100% sure but i think if you unplug that module your gonna set off your srs light and it will need to be reset but the dealer at a high fee or you will need to leave it unpluged to keep the light out and the srs system will not work. like i said im not totally sure but i do know if you unplug either of the airbags this happens so i would assume the same would happen with the brain so maybe try moving it without unplugging anything. just a tip and if im wrong than i stand corrected
