There are covers for bulbs that you can buy at any auto store that specializes in crap. A lot of guys are converting to LED's in everything, which opens the door for a variety of different colors.

Well I felt compelled to post in reply to this thread. I will get pictures for you of how mine looks but some info on the subject here is as follows.

-You need #74 bulbs
-The back of your gauges have an orange film that projects the orange color through so you must sand this film off with a soft grit paper.

You can buy your bulbs here.

Here is what the back side of the gauge face looks like.
The base material is a clear polyester sheet with multiple layers of ink on the front and the back to create the images.

From the front face to the rear face, here are the layers that make up the dial:

Layer 1 Black ink
Layer 2 Red ink
Layer 3 White ink
Center Clear PET sheet
Layer 4 Amber ink
Layer 5 White ink
Layer 6 Black ink

When you sand the back of the gauge dial you must sand through layers 5 and 6 to get the amber layer completely off. If you don't replace that black and white gradients, you will have hot spots in the dial.

Notice the gradient pattern screened in black and white inks on the rear of the dial surface help to distribute the light evenly throughout.
