well I have helped my friend primer and paint a few cars. the only thing i never did was after everything was sprayed I don't know what to do, yes i know your supposed to wet sand it then buff it, but because i never watched that part so I don't know. well i tryed to wet sand the door caps with 2000 grit and it made them dull again then buffed them (by hand) and they were still dull. so my question is what do i do to get the little imperfections out of the clear with out dulling or am i doing something wrong. please help i did search but all i found was pics no one actually told what they did.

you need to buff it with a buffer, not by hand.

nib sanders are excellent. 2000 grit should do the trick, buff with a buffing pad and a compund. Then buff with a polishing pad and a polish. the polish part is the secret. Do it in a well lit area and watch the light reflections to tell when your done. Have fun!

thank you guys for the info but i have never buffed my car b4 so i think i am gunna call my friend and see what he can do for me but i do have to wetsand it down with 2000 so i will get to work and thanks again guys

i wetsand with 1500 till its completly dull and smooth . then buff with 8'' dewalt buffer . first machine compound . then machine glaze . then hand glaze . comes out like glass . the problem you had is u didnt buff it out enough . u need to use a good buffer . regular orbital buffers wont work well either .
