Well, I bought my car with painted interior panels.. and the other day somebody scratched the door panel and I was shocked to find out that it was BLACK underneath. This has given me the step to remove the red from the majority of my stuff and make it black with red accents, versus the opposite.

Well, my question is what is the best way to sand off all of this without messing up the panel itself.. there are some uneven painted spots where I guess it got scratched and repainted.. so I'm guessing the paint is on there pretty thick.

I would say some kind of plastic safe paint thinner. Just a guess though.
