#95340, "Pic I took, what do you think?"

I had my friend use a flashlight to spell it out. I didn't have a tripod so it would of looked better but, eh. It's at our state capitol building. I think the idea is pretty cool(don't know if it's been done before, never seen it) but could use a better setting no?

not bad but the DSM looks kinda chopped. what kinda settings are you using? having a tripod would make a huge difference. when you do time lapse at nite your fixed objects should come out super sharp and only the moving objects should be blurred. everything's slightly blurred in your pic b/c your camera wasn't fixed. it takes a super steady hand to do nite shots like that without a tripod.

pretty neat idea though. maybe use a slower shutter speed to expose your car and the foreground more. then just have your friend spell it out slower.

Yeah I was mainly just seeing if it would work. It was set at the slowest which 4 seconds, pretty much impossible to keep still for 4 seconds while taking a picture lol. The only thing I changed with the pic is just the size.

Also, that was about the 14th try to get "DSM" to turn out that good lol.

its called light painting...and yeah it pretty fun. while it is a bit blurry from hand holding..you get alot of distortion and noise when you hold open a digi cam for a while...

actually with a slower shutter speed you can use less iso correction. this results in LESS noise as you're relying more on the ambient lighting rather than digital correction.
