Ok, I installed my HID set awhile back from Mike (EclipseTenzoR). I actually brought azdave's ballast mount pic out there with me but my ballast wasn't cool enough to fit on there like he has his.
Preliminary wiring.
Ballast mount - passenger side.
Ballast mount - driver side.
Semi-finalized wiring.
Lights just as they start to flicker on.
This is a nice set, but I have a bit of a dilemma. As some of you know, I had a problem with squealing awhile back. Anyways, every time I turn on my lights, another belt starts to squeal. It's fine once I get above a certain MPH or RPM range. But it always squeals when I turn them on, or when it's at low MPH or RPM's. I'm assuming it's the alternator belt or something. I'm going to check it tomorrow, but do any of you have any clues?
Edit: It's also NEVER done this before.

i'd assume its the alternator belt. have you tried tightening the tensioner bolt? The bolt is on the alternator and is in a groove that looks like a banana along the bottom of the alternator.

Yea, I know. Only problem is mine rattled out. It's an M8 x 1.25 but no one has one long enough to reach.

If you can't find the tensioner bolt. This is what I did as a temporary fix...
The nut that threads on to the stud that is at the top/side of the altenator bracket I loosened that up and then used a breaker bar to push on the altenator itself as far back as it would slide to get as much tension on the belt as I could and then tightened up that nut that locks it in place. Kinda ghetto, but it worked for me until I found that bolt.

As for the squeal, yes its from the Alternator. When you fire those HIDs up its draws around 30-40 amps for a split second and a bit lower while they warm up. Higher load on the alt = harder to turn.
Nicely dont, but please make sure those connections on the ballasts are water tight. Mine where fone till my first Automatic car wash, somehow the pressure washer got water into one.
Second, Get better unsilated connectors, Those clear blue ones are good since you can hit them with a heat gun and the shrink tube like material will seal em, but those exposed ones can and will tough if the wires are just dangling like that.

I would. The bolt is only two dollars but shipping is like 12.

And yea, I think I'm gonna get all new connectors and then make a bracket for where azdave mounted his passenger ballast.

Just curious, did you car just start to do that for the first time when you put in the HID? Because I thought HID lighting was supposed to draw less power than standard halogen bulbs?

It DOES draw less power, once the bulbs are warm and running. Its the initial Ignition process that takes up the juice. Its only for a split second,but still considerable.
Remember, there is no filament in those bulbs. You need enough initial Juice to make the electrons jump from one side of the bulb to the other (spark, ignite, etc).

Yea, it did. I also had no bolt through the alternator to hold it in place so I assumed it just loosened fast over time. Now, it works great.
