wow man your sister is a bitch.. as far as macco goes couldnt tell you, because its different everywhere. this question has come up quite a few times and the answer to it is. How much do you like your car? And does quality matter? Some Macco shops are good some are bad. Jobs are done as piece work. If you pay $300 then they work that into the wages of the people working on the car. So if they get $25 an hour and there are two people working on it, then they are only going to spend a max of 4 hours on it if that because paint and supplys will cost them some good money too. I bought a pint of ppg paint and that was $60 not including the clear that I needed and all supplys. I don't know if 4 hours is rushing or not for the amount of damage to your car but thats how it works with macco.

if you want a shitty paint job with the cheapest materials out there, yea go to maaco. i don't buy into the whole "it depends on which maaco you go to" or that it depends on the painter. they all use the same shitty quality paint.

use maaco if you hate your car I have three friends that used three different ones here and each has had to take their car back 1-2 times because they suck and the paint bubbles and peels.

So would buying the paint myself and having them spray be a little more cost effective? because these scratches are horrible....theres 2 about 4 ft long from the drivers side door all the way back onto the quarter panel and then on the hatch lid behind the spoiler theres three going in a row all the way across.

probably but if you do use your own paint and say it bubbles because of their shitty spraying procedure they're gona blame it on the paint which means no warranty and no free redo. if you absolutley HAVE to go with them use their paint because then they're obligated to fix any problems that occur.

I had my car sprayed by maaco in the STL and I didnt really have a problem with it. The only reason I did was because the clear coat was coming off on the spoiler and on the hatch. It looks descent (no show room quality) but it got the job done. But like others have said, you get what you pay for. I got mine painted about 3 years ago and I only had a little run on the front bumper that they redid.. So no big thing.

I have not gone to Maaco but I have gone to Earl Schieb which basically gives you the same cheap quality paint job. They all use the same scam. They paint your car for cheap. Then after a few months the cheap clear coat start peeling or the paint on your bumper starts chipping. Then when you go back to them they flip over your receipt and read to you how they don't cover peeling of clear coat or chipping on the bumpers. After many complaints, the manager finally agreed to re-do the bumper if I gave him $50 for the paint which I did. After another year the bumper was chipping again so I called and a new manager was there and he refused to do the bumper again because of their bumper chipping policy. If you decide to go to Maaco make them sign on there that if your paint starts peeling or chipping that they will re-do it for free.
