#94902, "isntalling WW commando wing?"

i bought a used wings west commando wing off someone awhile back and i think i'm finally gonna get around to getting it painted and installed. i'm currently wingless. how do i got about getting it mounted? i only have the wing - no hardware. i think when you buy it new it's supposed to come with some stencil thingy to help you place your holes or something, right? also where do i get the foam thingies they put underneath the wing? mine only has bits left from the previous install... i'm assuming that's to help prevent water from getting under the wing and then leaking into the hatch?

this isnt the reply you want but... keep it wingless. its a nice look, especially on red and black cars.
Sell the wing and save up for a turbo =)

If you don't have the stencils, you've gotta make your own... get some thick card stock type paper and an exacto knife, center it on the bolt holes on the wing, cut out the size of the hole with your exacto, and then cut out a U shaped piece that has two prongs that stick out the side of the wing with your bolt hole at the bottom of the U.

Tape them in place on your wing, put the wing on, tape all your templates using those prongs and stickier tape, and then drill away.

good advice from bumpintalon...
For a foam gasket underneath the wing, go to the arts and craft section of walmart. They sell sheets of a rubber black foam that's adhesive on one side for like $.80. I cut out some shapes, stuck it on the bottom of the wing and it worked great.
for bolts, just buy a variety from home depot. The ones I had to get for my oem spoiler were M6x10x20... I think. Maybe it was M8.
