#93887, "any other way to up the power on our headlights (minus HID)?"
so i was driving my moms new carolla this evening taking her back from shopping..and it has some fuggin bright headlights! they arent HID or projectors..nothing really special. and seeing as how many are sick of our 2 candle power lights...is there a way to get more light out of ours? would modifications such as different bulbs (as in completley diff numbers) work any? rewiring everything to higher gauge?
im just wondering what our weak link is to be honest..and if it can be remedied. i do alot of driving in rural areas, and i ended up wiring my fogs to come on with both low and high beams. while this is "ok" i would like to get a bit more out of the headlights..i could swear the fogs are brighter!

its all in the headlight design at that point. theyre newer and better plastic, but i would def suggest getting HID's. you wont wana go to normal lights after
I just wish my car was as fast as it was loud. people tell me i should use my sub to push it, it might go faster.

hmm yeah..i just have looked at our lights..and the color balance is very low. they are very orangish/yellowish like a dim bulb. i didnt know if this was something such as a lack of proper gauge wiring that we could upgrade to get a lil more output or what. they look like their starving for power. also are bulbs such as 9007 and such any brighter?
i know our plastic isnt the best (ok its pretty crappy) but still, that dosent explain the starved look that the lights put off.

the stock lightbulbs are awful. I got Sylvania Silverstars and now have no complaints at all, they are plenty bright enough for me... at first I only had the silverstars in the lowbeams, and they were brighter then the stock highbeams but did not go as far or as high on the road.
I have see them at work on my friends mark viii they are great. they also have them in blue shade.
