#9271, "Hood is loose and rattling, how do I tighten latch?"

Is there a way to tighten the hood latch or adjust it? It's kinda loose right now and rattle when the car is on. It only moves maybe 1 cm, but it rattles...any ideas how to tighten?

There should be a couple bolts holding it down but they are hidden away behind the bumper...

Anyone else? I don't get it cus the hood latch is tight, its locked on, it's just that it's loose. I can barely move it like 2 mm but it makes a rattling noise. I think that even if I adjusted the hood latch higher or lower, that would only change the closing point of my hood. Is there a way to tighten it, or do I need a new latch? Thanks...

For the front of the hood you should have 2 rubber stopers near the headlights, adjust these up, so the force against the hood stops the movement, also check you back mounts, i have found these to get loose from time to time.

Thanks, I'm stupid I should have thought about that...I didn't think you could adjust them for some reason...there are actually two big ones near the fenders, and two smaller ones in the center...so I assume I just twist it out right? When I installed them after painting my car, I turned them all the way in...

Yep just turn em counterclockwise and raise em up. I did that to mine to line the hood up right. If all else failes you could use a very cheap solution I used on my Neon with the solid mount... rattles so much I took a short piece of hose and put it between the frame and the hood behind the latch... held the hood from rattling...
