My cuurent front bumper is torn to all hell, so I'm getting a new one before paint. Question is, do I just install this bumper like factory and allow it to flex, so if it encounters an obstacle it flex's out of the way? Or do I build a scuff plate/bracket spidering off the radiator support to brace the bottom of the bummper so it it hit's something it transfers the shock away from the bumper and to the stronger chassis of the car?
(keep in mind this is intended to protect against the normal curb/speed bump/parking stopper dammage)

just be more careful when you park. in the year that i drove my car around lowered an inch an a half, i never once hit a parking curb. you just need to get comfortable with the length of the car and how far into a spot you need to go so that your ass isnt sticking out and you arent going to nail the stop.

See this sounds like of a bunch of "Pay attention, be responsible, yada, yada, yada..." I'm looking for a way to convince the city I live in to lower the curbs and parking stops at least 2in., now thats not too much to ask, is it?
In seriousness though, have you ever been to Pismo Beach, whoever designed the driveways in that town, and I know it was the same fucker, put too much slope on them and it's damn near immpossible to pull in anywhere. Here in th ol' Visalia, you're hard pressed to find a residential driveway that doesn't dip sharply before it goes up. I need to move.

you're probably right, I think I'll try some sort of scuff plate or something though. Something to try to hold the cover together as one piece, so as not to tear as easily.
