Damn. That's a lot of money for a paint job. I'd rather use that money to get another car. If your looking to do a show car it's best that you spend the money to get it done right the first time but if your just looking to get your car repainted because the paint isn't in good condition you should go with the $1,000 paint job.

I was kidding. We cannot tell you how much a paint job will cost. There is too much to factor in. You can go to every shop in your state and they will tell you a different amount. It all depends on how much prepping and body work needs done. It depends on how much they pay their workers an hour for labor, it depends on how much it cost them to get the paint yuo want. The only way your going to find out how much it will cost is to go to some shops and get estimates dude. We cannot help you with giving you estimates.

If you just need a cheap paint job to cover up wear and tear, go to Maaco and slap on whatever color you want for $400.

x2. This is what I did, just got my car in black and it actually came out very nice, the car is my daily driver. The quality will vary though from maaco to maaco and if they take any pride in there work.

they can take as much pride and take 300 hours to paint a car, thats not the fact of why Maaco is soo cheap. Its becuz their paint simply sucks. Ya it will look good for the first couple months, maybe even a year or 2, but after that, just say good bye to it. It will start flaking, chipping, peeling, etc just becuz they use the cheapest paint ever!

Make some friends in the body shop. Last quote's I got around here in socal from non-friends were around $1500-$2000. Of course it was for a top quality job though, no prep work on my side.

Sorry man, but your not gonna get a "top quality" paint job for 1500 to 2000. this question is way to broad. Not doing any of your own prep, you will pay at least 5000 for a REAL, take all panels off, quality paint job.

Well, I guess I posted that wrong. I didn't mean like a custom show car paint job, just a nice job, better then stock, but definitaly not a show car. I should also mention, I wasn't going for a color change either, but door jambs and etc were going to get sprayed, not interior. I must say though, the cars coming out of some of the places were damn nice.

well i plan on sanding the car down and then primering it first. but heres what my paint job looks like first...

So obviously anything better than that would make me happy. if i were to sand it and primer it myself and put the kits on how much would it run for a DECENT paint job, i dont need show, just better than it is. fuck the bullshit. itll still look clean and thats all i really need right now.

Just go to Maaco and have them do it for you. Then have another body shop clear coat it for you because Maaco won't. It should run you under $1000.

It won't be cheaper if you prep it.

I live in Florida. The paint people installed side skirts and I went with a darker blue and it cost me $3,700.00 with very little body work and a new wing being painted.
