Hey guys, I'm checking on the cargo lamp in my trunk. It's not coming on, but the bulb seems fine. What exactly triggers the light to come on?

Thanks for any info

ditto. check if your door ajar light on your dash comes on when you open the trunk. if it doesn't there's a problem with the sensor on the latch.

It clips to the latch. I have no plastic interior trim in my hatch, so mine has been abused and is not much more than a little metal clip that causes the light to flicker and go off from time to time.

Tap on the plastic towards the lower, passenger side of that opening for the latch. That's the corner it clips to. (Or pull the trim piece and take a closer look.)

People who need to find a socket that's fallen to the bottom of the 90lb toolbox when the batteries in the mini Maglight they keep under the driver's seat "just-in-case" are dead and they're stranded on the side of the highway in BFE? emoji

My car didn't even come with that light. I had to gank it from the yard. emoji
