I'm refering to the automatic over drive button on the auto shifter. It seems to me you have to take out the leather-like skin wrap imo, but anyone have any other ideas?

1998 GS with hrc stage 2, HID 6000k conversion kit, AEM UEGO wideband, sfmu, ml, prokits, Greddy warning gauges: egt, boost gauge, and oil pressure, apexi tt, haydans tranny cooler, costum dp, groundwires, dynotune fp gauge. gst muff, turbo spoiler

nothing like driving with the windows down and the music low: i love hearing the turbo spool, swwwhhhttt!!!!

You have to cut it and re-splice it back

. i cut the shift knob with a dremel to take out the o/d then unsoldered the wires from the circuit board and put it on a switch .

i did it that way because i was throwing out the stock shifter anyway . you can also pry out the tabs on the black o/d button and pull the button off . i tried that for like 20 min and was like screw that . i heard people say they did it so your best bet is to try that but no matter what you have to take off the wires .
