My driver's switch for my passenger window has been acting up for the past couple of weeks. I get no movement from the window at all when I push the button, but if I lean over and push the button on the passenger side door the window goes down fine. One other interesting note is that this really only occurs in the afternoon after my car has been sitting in the sun all day, in the mornings on my way to work it usually goes down from pressing the button on the driver's side fine.
Anyone have any ideas as to what the hell this could be, I haven't done any work where I needed to take the door panel off in a long while, but is there a possibility that the wires could be loose. Or is it more likely a short in a wire somewhere. Thanks for the help...

I had the same problem with my 97 RS. For me, it was the switch itself. The box that the wires plug into wasnt mounted flush with the door panel in turn taking away the clearence for the switch. Take your dorr panel off and mess around with the switch. Make sure its up in there all the way when you put it back. As for the sun, heat makes things expand. When the door panels expand, it prolly takes away from the clearence as well.
