#89189, "Angel eye wiring, what the fook!?"

So I finally decide to wire my angel eyes, and there are 2 wires, one red one white. I fig'd red obviously is power, and white is ground. I wired the white to a sep a ground for each, then I wired the power for the angel eye into the turn signal bulbs and spliced into the green/white wire. for some reason, it keeps blowing the fuse. Maybe too much resistance or something going to the buld now or something?

what else should I wire it to? my sidemarker lights dont work for some reason, i took em out when i did the widebody conversion, and tried wiring to them, but they just dont work period, lol.

what else can i wire these bitches to for power so they come on when i turn the headlights on?

gracias in adcance.

I ran mine to the fuse in the engine bay, the one for tails. Just put a switch on it so you can turn off the angel eyes while the head lights are on or you'll over heat the led's and they won't work anymore, just like mine did.

YOUCH! lol

Maybe I will just run it to the turn signals still, and use an inline and the fuse, cuz if one went out, I deff would rather have my turn signals not work than my tail lights not working right emoji

turn signals and tails are on the same fuse, as far as I know. If you have foggies you could splice into that wire so the angel eyes come on with the fog lights. Just an idea

i have mine wired to the turn signals and it never blew a fuse but after a month then started flickering like a strobe so i turned them off then i turned it back on they just went out.first the left one went then the right one. is there anything i could do to fix them ? can you change the led ?

yes you can, but it is kind of hard to do. heat the oven to 250 then turn it off and put the head light in for about 10 min, pull it out and take it apart. Take out the old led's then put in two more and put it back together. It takes about 45 min to an hour.

just heat them in the oven like before, and stick them back together. Just be sure the oven is off when you put them in or you'll warp them.

did any body put a resister on their LED's? THATS why it keeps blowing! the leds are only designed for 3-6V depending on the type of LED.
with 2 6V LED's in my Halos i used a 140 ohm resister on each and they are each wired into the appropriate side marker.
i can get the actual color markings of the resister if anybody needs so you can get it at radio shack.

If you bought ebay halo lights like these a current limiting resistor and a reverse polarity protection diode is already installed. I can't speak for the other brands but I do know these.

I had one LED blown out before I even installed them. The problem is that they use some cheap reject LEDs in them.

I measured the current on the other set and they were pulling a very safe 20 mA at 13.6V. These halo light have two LEDs in series with a 220 Ohm resistor inline.

You could add an additional resistor to run them at an even lower current (at the expense of brightness of course).

I don't know how well my replacement LEDs would have worked since I gutted the housings a week later and installed Bi-xenons.

those are the exact smae headlights I have and the leds suck in them. Mine blew the first week I had them installed. I do however like the looks of them, they make the car look kinda evil.
