ok so I get in my car the other day as me and my girlfriend are heading out and as she opens the glove box to hand me my cd face, the thing just flys open to the floor and everything falls out. what the hell happened? i am thinking a screw is loose but im not sure.

there's like a tab on each side that sticks out of the glove box that keeps it from falling all the way open. you take those off when you remove the glove box b/c it lets it swing all the way down thereby giving you access to the mounting screws of the actual glove box. check for the little tab thingies to see if they're broken or what. it shouldn't be hard/expensive to replace or fix.

yup, my guess is the tabs pushed themselves out...
Look on the two sides of the glovebox, there will be 2 holes, thats where the tabs go.
Not a big problem

dont ya love it? when i bought my car, the previous owner did something with the tabs and they were nowhere to be found. pop the glovebox...flop crash. its all fixed now..but that was getting to be annoying. youd have to use 2 hands..one to support the door..and one to open it and get whatever youy wanted out.

My glove box did the same thing. The pins just fell out.
You can replaced the old pins with a pair of 5/32" x 1-1/4" roll pins from Lowe's or wherever. The new one's will have the same diameter, but are a little longer. If you push it all the way in, they work perfect.
