Here are a few shots of the new paint. It's House of Kolors, Candy Apple Red and Orion Silver. I think it's sick as hell. These pics don't show it but there are skulls and stuff ghosted into the graphics. I'm hoping to have it done for the NOPI Nats in Atlanta, but it's not looking to good at the moment.

Keep in mind that there is no clear coat on the car yet. So multiply what you see by 100 and that will be close to what it will look like.

Oh, you don't like altezza's? Too bad, your gonna get a good look at mine.

Looks good, but all that over spray in the wheel wells and on the braks kinda looks nasty. Is that easy to clean off?

Oh yeah, it comes off really easy with a rag and some thinner. My car sits so low you can't see in the wheel wells anyway. And I'm going to repaint the calipers and drums.

Who cares. I have no intentions of ever selling this car anyway. It was my first new car. It had like 3 miles on it when I bought it in 96 out of the showroom. I'd stick it in the corner of the garage before I got rid of it. And to be honest I'd say the re-sell value went throught the floor the day I pulled the engine to rebuild for boost, wouldn't you say? Its hard to sell a non turbo car with a turbo for blue book price. Plus it could be back to Sorono Red in a weekend if I so choose. Come On James live alittle and have fun!! emoji

Not really. You can at least get blue book.

Ive had several oportunities to sell my car for more than blue book. When you do a custom paint job like that, its even harder to sell it.

Dude, I have turned down $12,000 for this car. So as you can see re-sell is a non issue because I will not part with it.

I'm also going to try and get my car painted before Nopi Nationals. I've got a lot of work ahead of me, though. I'm painting the whole thing HOK Kandy Apple red.

Oh yea, screw resale. This thing is going to my kid when he's able to drive, lol.

its possible, depending on how good the painter is and how hot he mixes the paint. we paintd the car (the 2nd time) with hok and from start to finish was 4 days. then i drove it dwn to daytona for tuner bash. if u have access to a paint booth with heat that helps bake the paint. a good idea if u are taking it out into the elements.
looks killr tho

Thats fucking sick.

Talk abotu re-sell value, if a new 16yr old driver seen that car, and its paint, his daddy would pay OVER resale for it.

Dont know what state your in James, but re-sell value on anything aftermarket is higher. Atleast here it is.

emoji Kandy apple red was my original choice for paint when mine was in the process. Only reason why I went with purple is because its a rare thing when you see a deep purple eclipse. Kandy red is my #2 choice... and I was thinking of changing the color to red next year maybe... I dount I will tho.

Looks hawt nonetheless! emoji

Damn...that is my color scheme...Red.Silver.

Hope to see you at NOPI in ATL! I will be there. My front bumper is in pretty ruff shape since its my daily. I plan on a new paint job next year. I am building the bottom end this winter...HAHAHAHAHA NEED MORE BOOST!!!

I also plan on going more conservative in the looks dept. Just a solid color with my stock front and keep the rest of the body kit alone and going to remove the wing too!

Anyways looks great and I hope to see you and your car at NOPI.

PM me your cell and I will give you a call at the show!

Wow guys, thank you for all your kind words and support. I was totally expecting most people to bash it because I didn't put a 97-99 bumper and body kit on, and repaint the stock color emoji. I just hope I can have it done for the show. My interior won't be done but the car might make it.

The dots are going to look like rivets once there all airbrushed in. They make the silver look like steel riveted onto the car.

hey man that thing looks really good. I usually don't like 2 tone cars but you pulled it off. And in regards to the resale value, as long as its driving well and looking good like it does theres always a young kid who wants a car like that.

Well, my best friend painted and did all the body work for free. How cool is that? The paint ran about $875.00, but its all House of Kolors stuff except the clear coat. If you would have a body shop do all of this I'd say you would easily be in the $6,000.00 - $7,000.00 range. If you look at the pics you'll notice the shaved body lines, molded skirts, shaved back up lights, and frenched license plate box. It really was alot of work.. but worth it if you ask me. The side skirts look factory, they're just amazing.

I had originally planed to shave the roof lines as well. But then I saw that most of the ones at shows that had been filled where cracking. And as I haul the car alot, I thought the stress of the car twisting as I pull it on and off the trailer would only make it worse. So I guess you could say that I pretty much wussed out on that one. If I had done it and it cracked or spidered I would have to repaint the whole candy part of the car. You can't touch up candy paint as it is impossible to mix exactly the same every time. It would have looked really nice though.
