If you don't see the light of having it done properly(bondo will come out of a hole eventually, if not crack around the edged to a point of being visible through the paint, especially on something that's jarred as much as a door), then find a product called ALL-METAL it's like bondo, only stronger(on larger areas you even have to use a grinder to smooth it down enough to sand), and sets up nearly 3x as fast. If you do use this do not mix it on cardboard or anything with any absorbing properties, because it will soak up the hardener(which is very watery), and for your sake, read the directions, i've messed up numerous times with the stuff and it really sucks when that happens.
After you fill the holes with that(if you do) and get it worked out, then go over it with some bondo normally to fill in any low spots you may have left.
But the best way is ,undoubtly, to have them welded up, and if you need to find someone to weld them, then just go ask around local shops and stuff, and show them how small they are and tell them that you can finish them, you just need them welded up(and ground down properly, unless you know how to that  )you may find someone that'll do it for about $20, if not less(depending on where you are, and how busy the shop is at the time, and how nice the guys are). ![]()
