I was at a car show this past thursday on the 28th and this guy with a pretty decent integra was messing around a little bit with his front bumper with some rub on shit. it looked like he was waxing his bumper or something and i figure out why cuz the show was over in like 2 minutes while he was doign this. so i went over to him and told him that the show was over in 5 minutes, lol and he told me something interesting that i never knew of. he said he has a 30 minute drive home on the highway and to avoid rock chips on his front bumper and front of the hood, he puts a thick coat of wax of his bumper/hood and while its still a little wet, you put plastic wrap over the wax and kinda push it on there so it sticks. he says when you get home then, you just peel the plastic wrap off and then you dont have any big rock chips or bugs on your bumper or what not from driving. i dunno, i just thought it was soemthing interesting in case you hate rock dents like i do, especially you all show guys/gals out there. anyway, there is a solution if you ever wanted to try something. i havent tried it yet, but i assure you i will down the road sometime.

I prefer to wrap my lunchmeat in saran wrap, not my car! lol.
They actually make clear adhesive kits to protect from rock chips. BMW has an OEM one available. I put it on my z3 after I replaced the bumper (damn raccoon incident)It covers the front bumper and part of the hood. Invisible to the eye. I will try tofind a link to one.

If I was taking a long drive to a car show I would saran wrap my front to protect it. People with daily drivers that go to shows have been doing this for a long time. They have to compete with the guys that put $30k in their cars and never drive the thing down the street so they dont get a chip which i think is one of the lamest things ever imo.

When my club rolls to shows we just usually use the same stuff they use to transport new cars to dealerships! Its a white adheasive paper! You can also use blue painters tape which works really good as well!
