#86576, "interior lights/door dinger quite working, help please!"
Jun-23-05 07:42 AM by RxR_Eclipse

I searched a bit but my question is too broad, so it up to you guys. I recently lost my interior lights when the door opens or I just wnat to switch them on. Along with that the bell that tell you to turn off your lights and the key is in went at the same time. I have searched under the dash for the cluprit and I have not found anything that looks out of place. Any ideas here people?

Does it do that on the driver and passenger side???

It only doesn't work when the driver's door is open, but works fine with the passenger. I have a loose wire in the door jam switch, but if it doesn't work with both doors you have a loose wire somewhere ahead of the switches.

does the door ajar light come on? that tells you whether it's related to the sensor or if it's more directly related to the lights.

none of the above. No door ajar, door switches do not work. Tail open does not trigger lights. Hell you can't even turn on the MAP light on the mirror. None of the light work on the inside except the dash lights.

Did this happen right after the rebuild? Or since then. You might have some wires that got burnt through again (somehow). Check those fuses and I will look into it more tomorrow too. Best of luck.
