Alright so I went and took some of the scratches out of my car with buffing compound, and here's the problem: on all the panels that were factory painted, it worked totally fine and looks good now. on the panels that were repainted after my fender bender, i have fuckin dull spots, so I dunno what happened but how the hell am I going to get them out? I buffed them with coarse buffing compound (intended to take out scratches, it was what the guy recommended.. i did it by hand too) and then buffed it by hand and the factory finish ones looked good, the repaint ones didn't look good at all. I tried waxing it like three times and the dull spots are still there. They aren't obvious to anyone else unless I point them out but I can sure as hell notice them from about seven feet away and closer. should I run some fine buffing compound over it or do I have to do some mad bodywork scientist shit and wetsand + buff them out? the repaint was done over a year ago now so the shop won't touch it, even though the panels they put on are shit and have those tiny little bubbles in them in a couple places... in the picture in my sig, the fender and door are repainted and the quarter is factory finish so I thought it would be fine since the paint was equally clean all around

Sounds to me like you buffed right through the clear coat, which in this case was not layed as thick as the factory panels. Your probably going to need to wetsand off the rest of the clear on that panel and have the clear re-sprayed.

uuhhh that fuckin blows i am mad choked at this body shop, i can't believe i paid them so much money to have so many fuck-ups with the work they did.. my door didn't open for awhile after I got it back, etc. etc.

Dude, I brought in my car to have the door handles painted to match the exterior last year. When I got the car back the window was de-railed so whenever I shut the door with the windows down it would shatter like crazy. They also screwed up my tint and said I brought the car in like that...
For your paint, I'll have to check it out haha. I have a bunch of stuff that we can try. My cousin has a huge bin of detailing stuff.
