Hey you guys hear of a recall on this black tar coming out of the door panels? I managed to get it off with some 'oops' or aircraft stripper, but it takes too long and will mess up any paint.
Suggestions, recalls?

I don't think there's a recall on it, but I just scrape it off and keep going. You need it anyways for something. I can't remember what it's for though.

It's on there to hold on the door plastic which protects your switches from moisture and keeps them working.

if you dont replace or put back on the plastic and get a good seal your power doorlocks will stop working within in a week, the motors are crap and it just adds to the distruction of them

Mine have been going strong for 3+ years now... no plastic around them. And I powerwash the car too.

Sounds like your tar is out of fucking control. How does it get past you door panel? Saran wrap that shit lol.

I think it has something to do with the weather changes we get up here in WA. It heats up and gets kinda liquid and runny. I took my driver side door apart yesterday to fix the damn door lock and it was everywhere inside. It drips down to the bottom of the door panel and then leaves gooey drips on the door sill. It then gets on my fuqin pants when I work on my car> yeah I'm dumn, I know it's there, but It's hard as hell to get off the door sill without messing up the paint. So far oops works pretty well withoutdestroying the paint, but it takes a while.
I'm not sure suran wrap would work, I'll figure something out. My mechanic used to be a Viper tech for Dodge and he was telling me last summer that they had a recall on that crap cause it goes everywhere. I'll check it out in a few weeks and keep you guys posted on it. I already have to take my car in for the recall on the cv joints or whatever that I never did cause my engine was out of my car.
