what are the BEST prjector headlights they make? closest to OEM duriblity? ive been througha few but they are garbage.. either they look cheap or they dont giv off any light... Im lookin for liek black housed projector lights .. whats the best company? and any links woyld be helpfull thanks guys

honestly the best way to go is to buy some valeo projectors and some shrouds and retrofit them into your stock headlamps. You can throw halogen bulbs in at first, and then if you ever feel the need to upgrade to HID you'll be all set with OEM looking hid's. Check out HIDplanet.com or HIDtech.com. there's lots of retro-fit information there, plus i think they both sell projectors.

It's actually much easier to put the Valeos into an aftermarket ebay projector housing. That way you won't have to make custom bezels and you will always have your stock lights to put back in case you change your mind or take a long time to do the conversion. It's still a challenge to do the conversion but after trying it with stock factory housings I found it easier using the ebay projector housing.
After having these lights with H1 HID bulbs installed for about two weeks I went ahead and opened them up and installed an E55 Bi-Xenon Hella system I had bought about a year ago when I tried to fit them into some stock housings. Valeos should be much easier since they are smaller but they are still difficult to fit and seal up. Definetly check out HIDplanet for all kinds of tips. The E55's were big enough that I had to take out the LED halos in the ebay lights to get them to fit.

Every time i see your taillights i say some bad words towards you because you have the coolest and most unique taillights, and I will probably never have such cool tails...! lol
Anyways, I have halo projectors on my car, and they are just fine... give off light good, and are durable... still work perfectly except the LED or w/e it is in the halo's are burnt out... but other than that, they are great... I'll try to dig up the brand... I bought them off of ebay for $160 or something like that.

lol.. Aaron I saw that write-up and in his final revisions to it, there is no way an newb in electronics could do that.. I am pretty skillful with electronics and I'm sure I would have some major difficulity, Dave put alot of time and work into that setup. Well worth it but... boy would that give me a headache trying to make it come out just perfect.

I went with the basic black chrome projector housings a few years back. Yeah pretty much most projectors will suck for lighting because the housing are so small, but I put some 4300k HIDs in it and they are better than ever now. It always looks tight when they ignite after you turn them on and then they heat up and get bright as hell. www.proxenon.com a little spendy, but an awsome kit Every once and a while you may need to heat up the housings in an oven and to take them apart and clean them, but it's the price you pay for aftermarket.
The halo one's look good, but I've never been a fan of the orange side markers.

I talked to him, and he said that there was over $400 in LED's the way he did it... maybe he's made a write up on how to do it a different way or something... don't know...

I've seen the boards he uses. Dave has actually had his own boards made for this. I will tell you all that he is designing/documenting his work so that the project will be easier for other people to accomplish in the future. You might even find yourself buying a kit from him some day...

This just in: Dave is the fucking man. He finally got all his tails complete and installed. Un-fucking-believable. These vids simply do not do it justice.
Just to share the labor involved in this project (since some would say it's "not that hard"), there are 862 SMT LEDs used (at a cost approaching $500), over 5000 solder joints, and more than 120 hours of labor invested in this mod. Dave has stated that he *might* consider doing this for another Eclipse owner if said owner was willing to pay him $2,000 up front for parts and labor. I'm pretty sure he's not interested in putting this kind of work in on someone else's car, though.
All he really needs to do now is get all his proprietary boards arranged and stowed in the hatch and he's good to go, although he is now contemplating developing some sort of simple computer to allow him control over lighting patterns for shows or parties.
His engine is completely stock, but he has, without a doubt, one of the coolest DSMs in the country.

If you are interested, I forgot I had a few more pics of the way I custom installed E55 Hella projectors into my ebay projector housings. It's not a full tech article as that would take forever to cover all the steps required. It's just a few helpful photos for anyone considering installing modern factory HID projectors into the ebay type projector headlamp housings.
