#85605, "A Memorial to the WIDEBODY :)~"

Well here we go, after 5 1/2 months of trimming, glueing, fiberglassing, molding, sanding and all that bullshit, the widebody is painted and done. I feel like I wasted my time taking these pictures because these pics just dont do the paint the justice it gets. I ended doing House Of Kolor Limetime Pearl with yellow pearl and rainbow/silver/green flake in the clear. When the sun hits the car, its crazy looking, there is SOOO much yellow pearl it looks simply amazing. There is another show this weekend so if the sun is hitting it right, I will get some more pics of it so you can see the atctual color of the car,, cuz in these pics it looks reallly dull.
So enjoy, and let me know what you think, hate or love it, doesnt matter to me, cuz i fucking love it. And BTW, The interior is under construction if you cant tell.
And if anyone is wondering what paint setup I did, it went like this.
Gray primer, Black tracer coat primer, white HOK sealer, white HOK base, 4 coats of HOK limetime pearl, 5 coats of HOK clear with flake.
and p.s. sorry for the humungo pics!

Looks pretty damn good. The door looks a little out of place though..

Sorry, don't have a blur tool lol, but the door is like too small or something, but again, it does look good.

And DAMN, your interior is fucked up.

it looks small cuz its pushed in because there is nothing on the doors, just the door, no add-ons.

Mike you did a really nice job on it and the green looks really nice. What color did you end up going with? Looks liek a candy green with maybe a silver underlay.

The doors could use some blending into the body but hey that is a good future project 2 years from now right? Get some use out of it at shows and expand more later!

Now dont mistake my criticism as downing the job, just points to think about when you change things later, lets face it, now that you have done it once, you will expand and do it again later, nature of the beast!

The front has some nice detail in it, i like the trimming around the upper edge of the air inlet, nice creativity there.

The rear could use a bit more blending, i can see where the Kit ended and the factory started. The two little dimples where the rear edge of the widbody end could be blended into the factory to look more like one bumper as opposted to a blended kit.

The side skirts came out very nice and the blending into the quarter looks seemless, great work.

I dont think an Invader hood would look good Mike, the EVO hood may be a good addition someday but i think the nvader would not blend with the curves of the widebody kit.

All in all you did some of the best work i have seen, even from bodyshops. I can tell all the work and detail you spent time on and it is pretty well amazing. Whoever did the paint did a beautiful job as well and the polishing of the clear looks impecable. I cant see the gun strokes in the metallic, that alone tells you the painter was well experienced in shooting metallic based paints which is not easy to do well.

Good job man, nice to see the progress ansd such a large feat completed well.

Terry

FINALLY! HALLELUAH! (sp) it looks awesome, aside from the line in the doors (one the parts of the 2g I DESPISE for many reasons).. get that interior together and you're set..it is missing something though..but I'm not sure what yet...i'll figure that out later... ALSO, I need to know the # to whoever did your paint...'cause I need to find someone that can give my car a good show finish for a decent cost... but yea, awesome job, and it looks great, cant wait to see it in person...you should bring it to the Nopi Southeastern Nationals in a few months so I can see it before the S.O.

looks amazing i think the only thing is the mirrors are a little out of proportion b/c the car looks a lot bigger bein widebodied and the mirrors are so tiny, i bet that paint looks incredible in the person and in the sun, even from the pictures it looks real nice and clean

shit, didnt even notice the 'aero' mirrors.. thought there werent any on yet...yea, those are tiny on a stock body...and on a widebody looks like an ant on someone's finger...just way too small to look useful...but it's still nice emoji

Car looks good! Is the trunk closed in those pics? It doesn't look like it's sitting flush (you can just adjust the lock to fix that though - I had the same problem after my paint job since the lock was removed).

BTW, your post brought back memories or nightmares emoji of prepping my car. I think I sanded it 3 or 4 times before the paint, and 2-3 times after it was painted (wet sand and buff).

The car looks good, but why the fuck are we having a memorial for it? Did it die?

Lookin good Mike. No complaints here, except maybe the overall color scheme. The tails, hood, and headlights are all dark while the rims and gas door are silver. Personally, I like the darker theme, but it's your car. Excellent job.

Now that I look at it again, it might look better with the factory door cap runner (along the bottom) off.

Very nice Mike, You did a real good job sanding them fenders straight, I was expecting them to be waving at me with that paint. Awesome color. ( Def. Shouldve removed the lower door molding like mine emoji ) Congrats on having a finished product. You must be on a high right now, wait till you go cruise in it.
