#84995, "HID 9006 in hi beam area?"

I was wondering if it would be bad or would it not fit if I put the HID bulbs in the hi beam area where there isn't that globe thing covering the bulb. Just curious really why this would not work. I'm guessing the bulb won't screw in, but would it be bad in terms of lighting the road if I were to put it there.

You deffintley do not want to do that.. That globe thing is there for a reason it helpes distribute the light evenly around the reflector. If you put it in your high beams light would go all over the place unbalanced and way to bright, you would be sending people off the road.

The bulb would fit. I wouldn't drive around with them on though unless you are out in the middle of nowhere and really need to see. lol

that and if you wire them as high beams you would have to remember not to flash them. it's bad for HID's. that's why most cars that come stock with HID's still have halogen high beams. besides the added cost of an extra pair of HID's, it's just not good to turn HID's on and off for very brief periods of time like when you use your high beams.
