My one and only tip... If your going with friends or a club watch your back. You are a virgin show goer. Its a tradition to saranwrap virgins to chairs, trees, or whatever else is around to be tied to (atleast where Im from it is). Other than that just have fun... and remember if your showing your car its all in the little details.

Replace everything you can think of with fiberglass.

If there's not enough time, just put a bunch of stickers on the side of the car.

GUNK Foamy Engine Brite. Make sure you get the one for the 420a, its the one with our engine on the label. Other engine degreasers will not work, as they're not made specifically for our cars.

Yea, bring a couple chairs. It kinda gets boring after a few hours of walking around. Sit and hang out at your car for a few now and then and answer any questions people ask. Its best to completely clean it inside and out before you head to the show, then once at the show, set up any display you have and quick detail the car, and keep a few micro fiber cloths handy to go over the car before the judge comes around. Depending on what kind of show your going to will depend on if they scrutinize the car or not. Some judges pay attention to detail such as clean door jams, trim pieces, emblems, dirt ANYWHERE, ect ect. If its all for fun, then dont worry too much. Gives yourself an excuse to go all out and give the car some badass TLC.

At the show, general rule of thumb is dont be stupid. Dont do burn outs or throw eggs at people or talk shit on cars you have no taste for or anything dumb to get kicked out. Shows I went to a few years ago were very strict on that level, which is understandable. So just go with the flow after getting there, its all for fun. Lastly, just plain and simple dont be a dick to others if their cars are riced out or look like shit. mmmmmmmmmk?

Have fun sir. emoji

Crazy has given the best advice so far.

Also depending upon if its an indoor or outdoor show depends a lot on what you can get away with.

Best word of advice: You can lean a lot by paying close attention to how everyone details their cars while at the show, but like crazy said above completely clean your car before you go to the show and just detail once you get there. Have fun and don't pay any mind to the fucks on this board that like to make of those of us that like to show our cars.

I have a bunch of tips and tricks for shows if you would like to know more just email me at goodgrieff_99@yahoo.com

Some of us fucks just want to see you ricers keep it in the INTERIOR/EXTERIOR forum, not the General forum- "For TECHNICAL 2GNT subjects ONLY that are NOT EXPLICITLY COVERED in the other categories."

Theres absolutely nothing technical about engine degreasing or showing your car.

And aggro- we only make fun of you because you take it so personally. I actually love your car.

hey dawg... i think u should keep your mouth shut... you obviously dont know what you are talking about.

pm me for help, or email me, lollypoplovesyou@hotmail.com . ive been showing for several years. i can give you some pointers. there's alot to showing, not something n e one can just "tell u how to do it". for starters, clean everything on ur car you would never think of cleaning and use the right products. sponsored by meguiars i can recommend many products. the new NXT line is awesome including the NXT quik detailer. and Gold Class wax tops the competition for carnuba products. people that show extremely competitively, and it's almost a profession, like me, cant give u all the hints emoji puts us at a disadvantage. my suggestion is to go to the show, walk around alot, observe, and talk to the owners of cars... and the LAST thing you can do is give someone "advice" on their car, do not suggest unless someone asks, only compliment. and remember everyone has their own style and unless u want everyone to hate you, dont point and laugh at cars where everyone can see you lol that can turn into a bad situation. but like anything else, being a good show car owner comes from experience. the main thing is respect. respect the people and cars around you, people r gonna ask you questions about your car, dont get annoyed. good luck with the car. you'll have alot of fun, just know a good etail can make any car look great, people dont believe my car is 10 years old sometimes, after magazine shoots and a DVD... it starts to get fun. you can make good money doin this though but it usually only pays for expenses. i.e. our team took best team participation and best team overall and walked away with $2k... we payed for our registraton to HID and our liquor tab from the night before lol.. again good luck with it, and contact me if you have any further questions.

I bought a bottle of that a while back... the shit seems to work only when it wants to. First time I used it, car looked immaculated. Next time it looked like garbage, and just yesterday it was a pain in the ass to get off the car. I think I'm just going to stick with the bubble gum smelling quik detailer. God knows I have like 10 bottles of it from when KMart closed, there was a 90% sale so I nabbed like $100 worth of stufff.

I did just purchase aother clipse, black on black, used the NXT after washing it well, and it worked like a charm. So I dunno. emoji

Well the main thing is to enjoy yourself.

You know walk around and get tips from others showing at the show too. Ask them questions on what works best for them and try out some of their techniques. Another thing and this is what I did for the first couple of shows I attended is to pay close attention to the show vets. I learned a lot that way. But you will learn the ropes fairly quickly!

Another thing is its not always how many mods you have, its how clean your car is and also how you display your car. I'm not just talking about a super clean car that is closer to stock then anything either. But you really have to set your car apart and actually give it a theme almost. Kinda like you are trying to sell your car by image. Just imagine that the judges walking around are potential car buyers and you are trying to set your car apart from all the other talons/eclipses out there the judges are looking at. You see the same thing in advertising...its the same concept really.

The key is to have a constant balance of mods. What I mean by that is to have the same amount of mods in all the points categories i.e. Interior/Exterior/Performance/Audio/Display all those categories give you points. So its best to have a little in each category then all in one or just 2 of them.

Once you get into it more you will start to look for sponsorships/mag coverage/etc. Its starts to get crazy, but fun non the less!

So I hope you have fun at all the shows you go to.

i hear ya crazy... that NXT is the only way my black car doesnt get water spots. remember that meguiars waxes are carnuba based waxes unlike Zaino, it might not have worked well because of the climate. if it was too hot outside you'll notice it is very hard to get meguiars products off the car, try finishing your car in a shady spot or in the garage.
