#84659, "Pilot Fog Lights and Factory Fog Light Switch"
Okay I found some pilot fog lights the Dual PL-300W's that will fit nice in my Bomex front bumper. I emailed the techies at pilot asking them if I could just cut the factory wire harness from the stock fog light and splice them to the wires on the back of their lights to continue using the factory fog light on/off switch. They said no, that I would have to run their wire and use their switch.
Can anyone shed light on this? I wouldn't see why I couldn't do it the way I described. Anyone else have experience with these lights? Thanks!

hmmm, interesting. I am using the Pilot OEM style (97-99) lights on my 95 and just spliced into my stock wiring and am utilizing the stock switch. No issues at all.

seeing as im sure they didnt give you enough wire anyways (i had no where near enough to install in my RS), i would just splice into the stock wiring and see how that works...shouldnt be a problem

Thanks guys,
These lights are supposed to have two lights, the main fog light and another light that can be used with your parking lights or spliced into turning signals. I'd imagine that each light comes with its own set of wires, and I can just splice the wires on the main fog light onto the factory wire harness then connect the two harness together and viola, should be working with my switch. As for the other light, supposing there are two sets of wires, I can just spice them onto the parking lights and that should be that. Anyways, for $50 bucks can't beat em, so I will give it a try. I will let you all know how it turns out.

their fulla shit. honestly....everything for fog lights is already set up. how would that not work? just put some connectors on the pilot lights and plug the into the factory harness. and if you want the other blinking function to work just tap into the turn signal wire and your done. dont mess with re-doing everything because of what their "tech" says.

Yeah, this is what I planned on doing. I mean I am no genious but I know if theres wires and you splice so long as there is electric current running through them then there will be light. Probably some dumb policy they have to tell people to do it their way. This way they're covered in a legal sense.
