#84426, "Sunroof cloth came off...can the board be taken out?"

Anyone has had the cloth fall off from your sunroof sliding board? I don't know if its form the sun but mine started first coming loose in the center kinda bubbling and eventually just pretty much came off. Is there any way to take out the sliding shade easily or you have to take out the whole sunroof for that first.
I can try gluing the cloth back on as it is in place but i doubt it'll come out ok that way....but I dont know about messing with trying to take out the glass and all just to try and get to the wood board.

removing the glass isn't a big deal. its only 6 star screws. a allen wrench of the appropriate size would do it.

Does topshop headliners make a replacement for that part? I am curious because in the future I would be interested in a new headliner and have though about that sliding piece and if its a replaceable piece or if you have to re-wrap this.

If you sent TopShop the sliding pieces they could return them to you in carbonfiber - I have spoken with them about this but I decided against it out of laziness and just had mine dyed black- but it is do-able.

If I didn't live in south florida where it's sunny as hell 95% of the year, I would consider just living without the boards and taking them off. However, it's just way too hot to be without them...anyone living in the sundhine state should know. I glued as much as i could the front board, the back board is still messed up and looks like it will be more of a pain than the front...not that the top board is completely done but at least it's not hanging off...

Why would he want flexi carbon? The piece doesnt flex or anything. All it does is slide back and fourth. If you going to do it in CF, just have somebody, other than a shop do it. With that small of a job, a shop would charge you out the ass and it wouldnt be worth it. Thats even if you want it in CF, Im just responding to the Flexi carbon post.

Hell, I know how you can even wrap in raw CF and and it will stay and last.
