#8289, "Whoever painted the inside of thier car..."

Ive seen the pics of the cars where the inside was painted different colors... How did you do that? What paint did you use? Did you have to remove the entire dashboard or anything of the sort? How long did it take? etc. etc... general informatino would be appreciated. Anyone know what color dash would look good with my color car???

P.S. Anyone wanna sell me one of thier stock GS rims???

its really not that hard. you have to clean the pieces off first. then sand them with like 600 or 800 grit sandpaper. i like the 800. then prime it, sand it, and paint it. you may have to put a couple of coats on, depending on the look you want. i used krylon semi-flat black on my center console. it looks like it came from the factory. some people use clear coats, but it depends on the look you are going for. i had white interior but the clear coat started to turn yellow. this is the way i do it. some other people may do it differently, but it turned out good for me.

I didnt sand mine at all....I just soaked them in scalding hot soapy water in the tub and then dried em off and used Krylon spray paint from good ol' Wal-mart and its been fine since....Also I used a TON of clearcoat...that's the secret to making it come out so shiny and reflective...looks almost like my outside paintjob....need to redo some areas tho, from cigarette burns, etc....but overall dont look bad at all.....

nm....DOH alert!

here's the steps he typed in if anyone else cant find it either....

=================*As quoted by flaeclipseRS*================
dash removal....
OK I believe it has been explained before but I will try again...
First off remove all the lower kick panels...including glove box (10mm),its about 4 bolts on drivers side then about 4 to 6 on pass side.

Then remove pass side airbag, two phillips screws underneath and should have been two of the previously removed bolts from the first part ( all bolts to be removed are visible when the glove box is out.)

Now this one stumped me for a half an hour, you should pull on dash and lift to see if the bottom is loose, if so then proceed but if not then check to see if ya missed a bolt, the last two bolts to remove are visible only when the two small front speakers are removed... remove them and make sure your steering column is adjusted all the way down and turn signal is pushed in the down position. There is a 2 to 3 inch wiring harness plugged in near the fuse box, when you start pulling out the dash you will see it, unplug it and there is about two more small wiring plugs to disconnect on the driver side under the dash, and if you have taken your radio out(you will have too) you will see a metal bracket behind the radio hole that supports about four wiring plugs I think the two plugs closet to the driver side need to be unplugged. That should do it.

Keep in mind I already had my entire center console out along with every other piece of trim and radio, this will make everything extremely easy, trust me.I may have missed one or two things but anybody with a little patience should have no problem..

It took me about two hours to take it all apart(very first time) if I had to do it again for whatever reason I probably could do it in 30 minutes!!!(No shit)

Its not rice if you are painting your interior black like I plan to do, I hate that gray shit, I think it makes the interior look cheap and plasticky.

if painting the interior is rice, then painting the exterior is gigantic, genuine, japanese harvested patty rice. colored exterior paint jobs are much more ricey than just matching an interior. oh yeah, ive got mods, and im talkin. get as many as ive got and then you can start talkin (lose the 9 painjobs and youve got nothin)
i didnt want to say that but im just trying to prove a point, stop talkin trash cause youre being a hypocrite and youre the only one that doesnt see it.
