#82122, "Name That Button"

Ok, So I bought a used 98 mitsu eclipse spyder about a month ago. I love the car (despite the many problems I've already had with it). It is the first mistu that I have ever owned so I really don't know much about it.

One thing that has baffled me though is this little switch below my fog light button on the left. It is a little round switch with a tiny red light on it. When I flip the switch it makes a "zzzzzzrrrrp" sound and the little red light comes on.... but that seems to be about it. I've looked inside and outside of the car trying to figure out what the hell this button is or what it does, but I can't figure it out. This button also doesn't seem to be anywhere in the owners manual. Anyone know what this mystery button is?

It's something someone installed on the car.

Just follow the wire, see where it goes. The last owner was probably just to lazy to remove it, but better safe then sorry. Might want to make sure nothing is hooked up to it.

Ok... after much searching and following the wires, I found the source of the button. It actually leads to a little grey box mounted was under the dash with an led light on it and 2 buttons... one looks like a volume button and the other one says "Full/MU"

It's quite amazing because the button totally doesn't look aftermarket. Whoever installed it did a pretty damn good job.

It doesn't say anything else. I guess it's a radar detector *shrug*

Full/Mu sounds like "Full-time/Music" if you ask me. Probably an inverter for neons that pulse with the music in the car.

Haha... maybe. I don't can't find any neons anywhere on the car so if that's what it is, they were removed before I bought it.
