My buddy owns a 99 Eclipse RS and we wanted to start painting the interior plastic. We did the rear region already with some Plastic spray paint we found at our local Home Depot, but I was a tad bit disappointed with the color selection (although we had the right color in mind so it worked out luckily). I've been thinking of trying an accent color and all, and was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to get paint for the interior or brands to look for. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Testors model paint.. Has been used for years on plastic and I have never had one model car where the paint came off. I painted my interior pieces with that and it doesnt flake off at all, though it will scratch if you have something pointy other than that very durable.. I'm sure you'll be satisfied.. Plus side to Testors is, they have metalic paints too.

They make paint specifically for interior/vinyl. It can be found at a local auto parts store. There is also this stuff called bulldog that works well to help paint adhere to ANY plastic.

If you're gonna do it, do it right. Glass it, gelcoat it, then use automotive paint. I know that's a lot of work but trust me..I'm replacing my interior now because my 5 coats of primer, 7 coats of base, and 5 coats of clear with Fusion and Duplicolor began flaking off and looking like shit.

If you want it to look like what you see in magazines and STAY THAT WAY do it right. If you want it to look good for maybe a year and then start looking like shit then use anything you buy off the shelf.

Fusion and Duplicolor suck DICK! Trust me just use fuckin testors and you wont complain at all. The trick to painting the plastic is 10" away and hit it up lightly.. Make it look grainy.. let dry for 10 minutes then do it again. After an hour it should be filled in after repeating that process and you should be set. Trust testors because its plastic paint. I't doesnt flake at all. I have wasted over $70 using other types of paint and tried clear coating.. And then I use the unthinkable.. $4.00 can of Testors flat black paint.. Made my trunk and dash black. Then I glossed it up with some Meguiars back to black and it looks stock you cant even tell. I wish you guys could see this in person because the pictures never turn out good. But trust me this is the route to go if you dont have the money to get it sanded and hit up with automotive paint.

I dont know about painting the leather part of the door either.. It's worth a shot but I don't think so.
