#81446, "? for widebody gurus"

Seeing as how my car is going to cost some serious $$$$ to fix after my stop sign fiasco, I am seriously considering going widebody. However the only kit I can seem to find is the importfan.com kit. That one looks so-so but I know there has to be more out there as I have spent like 5hrs searching these forums for info on them, and came across the few members that have them. So, if you guys could help me out by pointing me in the right directions for all the options we have for these, as well as where to get them, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, what exactly has to be done for fitment? I know a little about that SEM(?) glue, but fiberglassing also has to be done, right? And would a gravity feed or a canister style paint gun be better for the primer? I don't have the appropiate facility for the paint so I will be relying on someone else for that, but I am learning body work so I think this would be a good pdoject for me. Well TIA for the help.

there are like 3 kits out there or so. i have the kamanari full fender widebody kit. u can look up on a search i think its kamanari.com but i havent looked in awhile. mike has the quehees kit im not sure where he got it. import fan u already know about and there are fender flares that u can glass on. but i like the full widebody kits instead of fender flares.
i glues the quarters and side skirts on with an epoxy that is used on corvetts and such. expensive shit. then screwed every inch till the glue dried and took out the screws. next i used marglass to smooth out the body lines. then a thin coat of filler. as far as guns to spray with i think gravety is the best but i could be wrong.
good luck with your adventure, wont be easy or cheap.

i have the quwhees kit...
i ordered it straight from quwhees awhile ago, when i get home tonight, ill get the # for you and post it if you want it.
fitment was pretty good though.
all i did was use the SEM glue to glue it to the panels, then grind off the paint where i was going to glue it, then glue, and use some pop rivets to help hold it on. then i took some fibeerglass chopmatt and fiberglassed it onto the body panels and the new widebody panels. and then used some strong ass plastic filler (duraglass) to mold everything... here are a few pics... goood luck with your decision, but IMO, dont get the supra widebody from importfan....just my opinion though buddy...

OH YA, ITS A SHITLOAD OF WORK IF YOU DIDNT KNOW!!!! LOL
and gravity feed guns are the best in my opinion~

Yeah I HATE those !@#$%^&* tail lights! When I first saw it, I was like " I could prolly get used to those", but now that I've thought about it a little, I can't stand it. How hard do you think it would be to convert it to the factory tails? Or do you know if any other backend of another widebody would flow the front of the importfan kit? Any help is greatly appreciated.

im sure you could modify the rear end of the import fan kit to use eclipse tail lights, but it might be tough.
