has anyone on here used their hatch cover as a sub box? I saw it on ebay and was wondering if anyone knew what the deal was with that and if anyone could help me figure out how to make my own...thanks

First you might want think up what you want the final product to look like first of all. Then figure out what size subs you want to run and where you want the amp/s to go.

You could start off by getting some cardboard to draw a template inside your trunk. This will act as your template to then transfer the shape to the MDF wood.

If I were you I would do some research on "how to build a speaker box" first!

Try that then come back with questions, or just use the search option here on the site!

When you say the hatch cover as a sub box, do you mean that the sub goes through the cover? I'm not sure that would be a good idea. There are an infinite number of ways to design a sub box for our car. I think the first thing you need to do is figure out what your budget is. Then see what you can do with that money. Once you have an idea of what you want then ask professionals and guys here what kind of box should be made of your future sub. Once you know that then you can do what ^^^^ said, and he's right, planning everything out with cardboard is a really good idea.
