I just painted two of my rims gunmetal, and I really like how they look, but haven't put them on yet because it's not dry.
However, I did get a few finger prints on it and also water spots cus it started sprinkling outside. Overall, I like how it looks. I first used a coat of engine enamel in high gloss black, and I wanted to keep it black, but finally decided to go gunmetal. Here is a picture of it when it was black.
I have a few more pictures of the rims and also my exhaust, and some other cars that were at T&L auto body today - the pics are up in the Cars section of http://www.importvenom.com under "Additional Pictures". Thanks Hadesomega for giving me the idea of painting rims. I hope it sticks though. It cost me about twenty dollars total, with 2 cans of Duplicolor Gunmetal (4.79 each) and 1 can of engine enamel 500 degree clear (5 bucks) and 1 can of engine enamel high gloss black (4 bucks). I used a base coat of the engine enamel and also a clear on top of the gunmetal so that hopefully the heat from the brakes won't cause the paint to melt off the wheels. You guys think it will hold?

marcus, i think your rims would look better white w/your paint job. its your car though,and they look prettytight for a spraypaint job.

hehe cool, painting rims gunmetal gonna be the thing now hehe!! ^_^ I think they looked better gunmetal, they looked more refined than the gloss black hehe. I woulda painted mine flat black if I didn't like how the gunmetal turned out. I'm not worried about mine being chipped or flaking cuz I'd probably just touch it up or repaint it. Haha I don't give a damn how these rims look as long as the paint takes away the ugliness. I'll upload a pic of my car in battle style mode later hehe, when I paint my other two battle wheelz.

Ya I have always really wanted white rims, but thought it might look ugly with spray paint because it's hard to get a smooth even coat. If the gunmetal doesn't last, or I get sick of it, I will paint it white with engine enamel only so it will resist the heat for sure...

I really like that! I have some 16's that looks like this
But they are silver right now......I think gun-metal is the shit. I've been working on painting mine. I'm keeping the lip silver like the Tenzos in the pic. I'll post when I get it done!

Oh thanks, but I actually need html hosting. Like how I have the Hot IMport Daze pictures with thumbnails, and then if you click the picture, it opens up another page with the image larger. By no ads, I mean no popup or banner ads from the hosting company...thanks, hopefully someone will be able to host some event pics or I'll have to take them down..
