Let me get a few more things understood and I will let you guys know where I found it. I definitley stand behind this guy. Ive seen his work, at his shop. Ive never seen anybody work CF like him. Actually the guy that has the Carbonwerks website uses his shop in the winter, lol.

Haha, its all good. I emailed him back asking stuff like how the OEM glass fits, will it be safe as a daily driven hatch, etc.... When I get some answers I will throw them back to you guys. I know Im def buying one and one of his CF chin spoilers.

i'm pretty sure you'd have to use a Lexan rear window, which to be street legal has to be glued on and not riveted. thatd be awesome if it uses the stock glass, but that would really challenge the integrity of the carbon fiber, i dont think it's that strong... even change the shocks on your hatch? yeh that shit's HEAVY.
keep us all informed, i know ill DEFINATLY order one if you post up all the info emoji

it wouldnt use stock glass, a guy on dsmtuners made his 2g track car completely out of carbon fiber.

there is also a link somewhere to a race chassis maker, you can basically buy an eclipse shell out of fiberglass and everything you need to make it look like an eclipse out of fiberglass. i think the doors would be the biggest weight reduction

Well I tried calling him all weekend and no answer, besides is machine. I sent him a very detailed email, including you guys were also interested, trying to put a flame under his ass. I get home today and no reply, WTF. Im gonna try to call him again right now. Also, there arent any pics of the hatches on his site. He told me through email.

Sorry guys, I hope I didnt just get your hopes up and have this guy not come through. I will let you know as soon as I find something out, which I hope is soon, cuz I have the money ready to order, lol.

Edited: 5 minutes later: I called again, no answer, but I left a message. Again I will let you know when I know.

Well heres the scoop. He finally got back to me.
The hatches can be made in fiberglass and CF. The price for the CF hatch is "gulp" 575ish. The fiberglass hatch is 375. Sorry his employees dont know what the hell there talking about. They do not come with Lexan, but he can install a piece for roughly 350 more. The CF does come with a finish or it can be finished to look like the racing CF. It will have a bottom frame. It will be built just as stock. I know its like 200 bucks more than I said, but his employee told me this. I am still gonna get one from him cuz I know he does really good work and stands behind it. He made Christian Rado's drag Celica body for him. His website is www.Frankscustomfiberglass.com. Please dont email him asking trivial shit, it will be like on here, you wont get an answer. He did say he will try to answer your questions in a timely manner, but he is very busy. There are more orders coming in than he can make. If you have any questions for me, you can IM me or email.

i also called my friends at Moonshadow tint and they said they could possibly tint the Lexan, but theyd have to test it out on my hatch..so i need to order this hatch soon i guess lol emoji

GTFabrications emailed me and this is what they said.
-price is currently at $430, I have 6 people right now. if I get a total of 10 people in on the hatch I can get it down to $410. Yes the stock glass will fit. We are looking for a local supplier for the lexan but everyone is very expensive.

You will be able to install the inner weather strip but you will have to do a little drilling. All accessory holes have been covered up.

There are dimples in place of them so you will easily be able to locate all the mounting holes.

ummmm sorry to bump this back to the top cause it's alittle out dated, but i just got back from deployment and was wondering if you guys had already found a place for the group buy? 400 is an awsome price for a CF hatch, especially one that can use the stock glass. lmk. tks
