Hey Guys, this is officially my second post on the site. I have a couple questions. I have a GD with manual windows and locks and I am trying to get the door panel off to install some speakers, I was wondering if anyone could help, I have the screw out and I have the door loose around the edges, I am having troble with the door handle piece, also, I my car is silver and it is starting to rust on the hood in small spots, the guy before me had a serious phobia of wax apparently. I was wondering if someone could give me a ballpark number on what they think it would cost me to get the color changed to gunmetal. One last thing, I am also looking for some OEM side skirts.

My paint jobs start at 1200, but i charge more for color changes and custom paint jobs or course since i'd have to do the door jambs and all that shit.

what's a GD?
assuming you have an eclipse with manual windows...
to get the crank off you need to pry the little retaining clip off. push the door skin into the door as far as you can to put as much space between the door skin and the crank as possilbe. you should see a little metal clip which goes partial around the plastic crank. just stick a screwdriver or something in there and pry it off. it's a little awkward without the special tool the have for stuff like that hard but it's not that hard once you figure out the first one.
next get the backing plate off from behind the interior door handle (the part you use to open the door from inside the car). there should be one screw if i remember. you hafta pull the handle so you can get at it.
finally remove the other door grip thing. the place you grab to close the door from inside the car. there a screw right in the bottom of that recessed cavity. if your car still has them, you hafta pop off the little plastic rectangle covering the screw with a screw driver.
once you've got all of those off you're good to go. just pull on the edges of the door skin. it's being held in by pressure clips after you've removed all the screw so it just takes a little tugging. be sure to pull along the edges close to where the clips are or you risk cracking parts of the clips.
