#79997, "Wheel studs?"

what are the dimmensions of our wheels studs? the thickness and length? i would measure mine but my car is at my rents house now and i dont feel like driving 30 minutes to measure them. if i recal, they look like 1.5"-2" long by like 1/2" thick. i need londer studs for my wheel spacers, im using a 1" spacer, so i think 3" studs should work for me. also, do i need hubcentric wheel spacers or will any old wheel spacers work for me?
gracias in advance!

okay i called and had my pops measure them for me and they are 1-1/8" from the rear brake drum. sooo, with a 1" spacer, im gonna need either 2-1/8" studs or 2-1/4" studs. now, does anyone know if they are 1/2"-20 or 1/2"-24 or what? thanks

okay im confusing myself here. the studs are 1-1/8" from the drum. so they are probably 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" overall. so i guess a 3" stud overall would work right? wouldnt be touch much or less, right? with a 1" spacer, 3" studs should work, correct me if im wrong please. also, are our studs 1/2"-20? thanks, damn im gonna quit posting until someone replies, lol

oh ya, dont forget the other question, will any old wheel spacers work for me or do i specifically need hun centric wheel spacers?
thanks
DAMN!

NOOO YOU FUCKING HAVENT! I asked before about hub ADAPTERS NOT SPACERS FOOL. There is a difference between spacers and adapters man. I am NOT using those adapters that bolt to your hub and then bolt to the wheels, im talking about actual spacers. read first before you come off as an like you usually do. thaaaaaaaaanks

Quoted from this ^^^^ post from ME (smart) to YOU (dumb, really dumb)

"If you use spacers then the entire weight of the car will be supported only by the lugs which they were not designed for and will snap quite easily. And with spacers you will have to use even longer lugs which will make it even more dangerous. Remind me never to ride in your car!"

GAWD.

Here is a short AIM log from the 10th of Feb, this year:

Eclipse982nr: ok so i ditched the venom manifold and going back to stock
Eclipse982nr: cuz for some odd reason, i think that manifold was making my ride stall out

Really?! No fucking shit. I swear man, every fucking 30 god damn minutes. Using shitty products, fuel issue after fuel issue. I think its hilarious how all you guys do is bring back shit from months ago. You guys do nothign all day, ARK your car is a piece shit and always will be, stop hating on mine. a_miller once again has nothing to do, so he decided to start whoring around like he was taught to by his sister. Maybe you guys should start respecting people around either than whoring around soo much. I mean your stupid and lame comments dont bother me one bit, but all everyone talks about is how you guys give nothing here but headaches to people who are asking perfectly fine questions and you guys giving fucked answers. You must not know the answer to my questions on what size our lugs are, so until you figure out, step out of the way bitches.
Oh I forgot that your not in the food business ark, is this better for you?

I didn't read all of the thread because I got 2-3 posts down and saw all flaming.

CarQuest/AutoZone/Napa will be able to tell you what kind of stud you have without needing the car.

And as for the "spacers" if you are doing it to mess with the offset DONT DO IT!!!

You want hubcentric rings, those are to fill in the gap that is between the outer edge of the hub and the inner bore of your wheel, those are the only things you should use... NEVER use spacers to put the wheels farther away from where they should be... it will ruin your bearings faster, and they are NOT safe!

NEVER use spacers to put the wheels farther away from where they should be... it will ruin your bearings faster, and they are NOT safe!

hubcentric rigs are like 1/8" big. those arent going to do me anygood.
and dj, i never said you guys were wrong did i? NOOO...
now listen, i know i cant use the regular $8.99 spacers from autozone, BUT i called that place called AIM Industries today and they said that they can make the 'hubcentric' wheel adapters. NOW, i am NOT saying you guys are wrong, I am just stating that this guy is guranteeing that the wheels be okay and the studs would not break. I am not doubting his or your words okay guys, lets chill out a little bit here and civil okay. Now, since he says they can custom make the actual adapters for a hubcentric vehicle, whats my chances with these? they are $59 a piece. a simple explanation will do here, not some whoring asnwer okay. lets chill out doods. but he is saying that if the wheels are torque'd down to spec, i wouldnt have any probs? do i belive him or not. if you dont think i should, im gonna say fuck the spaers, and just leave the wheels how they are, but i would like a decent opinion on this guys word. remember, no whoring please, lets be nice emoji

AIM is known for selling shit. I wouldn't want to be the one that trys out some new shit they just started making either. I've known people with valves and compressors from AIM that just kept breaking. Go to some minitruck forums and see how most people regard them.

I'm just going off what you said ..."they said that they can make the 'hubcentric' wheel adapters"...meaning to me that they don't mass produce these and i gaurantee you they won't be standing behind you if these fail.

actually i have ran their adapters and with no probs. the reason those guys custom make them is because it is cut out of billet alum. and they can dril out the bolt patterns instead of having 50 million sets laying around. yeah i too have had some compressors go out but i didnt take their word for what i was doin. i just tried to be a cheapskate. finally spent the cash and smooth sailin. truck have been puttin on car wheels for years. u can put them on just make sure that they are torqd right. also i have heard stories of them breaking but it was always the steel adapters. unless u hit a brik wall at like 60 emoji

You know I could own you six fucking ways from sunday with knowledge about these cars and cars in general so I don't have to have any constructive input into your stupid fucking threads that you could have answered by just fucking searching.

And I'm NEVER GOING TO DROP THE FAKE LAMBO DOORS ISSUE. That's how 2gnt'rs look out for each other. You think if Motofool or NER came back trying to sell turbo kits that they would be "left alone because that was in the past"? No, same as we'll never let you live that down. In fact, you've NEVER done anything to improve your reputation...ever. You're simply hoping the memory will fade and that's why you hate me coming in your threads because it keeps that memory fresh for people you're hoping will forget so you can rip them off.

Until you make an open apology on this board or do something at least half way redeeming I will never drop it.

this really gets old. so what he stated he was working on some lambo doors, lots of people come on here trying to do something and then when they start it proves not to pan out or be too difficult. as far as compareing him with ner, thats silly! ner made off with a bunch of peoples money and didnt fullfill their orders, i for one belong in that club he made out with about 800 of mine. so to compare the two isnt very accurate. the reason why people post is because they have questions. no one knows it all, shit even i get confused and so do others. unfortunately none of us live and die by 2gnt we all have other parts of our lives that have nothing to do with this site. no wonder new people come on here and are afraid to ask anything for sake of getting harassed. also it seems that even those of us that have been around for awhile dont post much due to all the bs. so what if someone is trying to help out and it doesnt work, at least they are trying which is more than i can say for some. and we were all BANME!s here keep that in mind because we started from nothing.
sorry to rant but it gets old. im sure others agree. the thing about this net fantasys is that we are all better than the next. so i guess if she tells you she looks like brittnay spears we should believe em..
truth is talk is cheap.
those who are trying new things and building motors, making custom stuff done to your cars, and figuring out electronics(theres a plug for u lee emoji) keep it up.

ps aaron u have been around awhile and have seen the same shit come and go as alot of us, u have good ideas and say some funny shit sometimes, but to badger him even if you dont like him it isnt worth it thats my opinion for what its worth.

couldnt have said it better! as for your apology for the 'fake' lambo conversions, they were never fake, yes i tried making a base model from a civic decah hinge. i dont see how it was fake. i was just using it to try to get a base to cut a hinge to 'fit' an eclipse. after that was all said and done and i admitted to using a decah hinge to make a base from, i dont see why you are still badgering. i not the only who failed upon making them. i already did apologize to eevryone, so drop it finally.

Many professional racers use hubcentric spacers to increase track width, or for clearance reasons.

Don't get spacers, hubcentric rings, and hubcentric spacers confused.

Most wheels are hubcentric (while there are some that are lugcentric), and you need the hubcentric rings (normally plastic or aluminum) in order for them to perfectly center themselves when you bolt them on.

I have found several places online with various size machined aluminum hubcentric spacers (which are spacers that have a hubcentric female ring, and hubcentric male ring on the back and front) that are made for 2g's. Once you get to a large enough width, you must get longer lugs, and once you get even larger, the hucentric spacers can bolt to the hub using a set of nuts, then you wheel bolts to the spacer.

Hubcetric spacers are pretty expensive, and I just needed a little more offset for my wheels to clear my brakes. So a cheaper, perfectly well method is to buy spacers, and then hubcentric rings. This will work if the spacers arn't wider then the ring protruding from the hub for wheel centering.

As always, make sure you have at least 6 threads of the lug when your wheel is bolted up (tighten down 4 out of the 5 lugnuts, then count how many threads you get w/ the last lugnut). If you don't have at least 6 threads, replace the lugs w/ longer lugs.
