#79888, "Ideas for a custom box/amp/nitrous??"

I was wondering if someone out there had some pics of a custom setup with two 12s/amp/10lb nitrous bottle in the hatch with pics?

I currently have Phoenix Gold ZX450, (2)JL W6 12's and a NX 10lb tank in the back and I need to clean it up because I just got a sponsorship through torquefreaks and I need my car to be show worthy in the hatchback...

Thanks for your help...

First off I would like to say that eclipse982nrRST, I love your fiberglass work and can't wait to see pics of the enclosure you are talking about. Your work is very inventive and professional looking, especially for only working with glass for a year, I can't wait to see some of your future projects as well. I am planning another project myself.

I am doing mine in a clean simple layout.

Picture this:

I am doing a flat deck lid from the back of the truck clear up to the front seats. then I will be making a small fiberglass enclosure for the 2 subs that will purtrude up from the under the deck lid, kinda like a volcano, and they will be located in the very back of the trunk.

Next I am designing an aluminum rack that will sit on one post that will be located in the center of the trunk that will suspend the amps about 2 feet above the deck lid and have a platform on top that will house the amp/amps havn't decided on 1 or 2 amps yet. Then a small tv will be mounted on the back side of the platform so you can watch it out of the trunk. The wires will run down inside the post so no wires will show.

Then right behind the seat will be the 10lb NX bottle that will also have a aluminum bracket. Then on both sides of the bottle will be 2 mid range that will also purtrud out like the subs in the rear like tiny volcanos made of fiberglass. I will probably be starting on this near the end of feburary.

I will post pics of my progress, as I am going to do a full picture/write up tutorial this time on the fiberglass.

why dont u just mold it into the interior of the factory panels. fuck that just kidding its a real pain in the ass. damn peer pressure....
i think the volcano thing would be hot. also i think if u had a floor like u described u could get some thick cylinder lexan and u could have the speaker floating in the air. put neon at the base and that shit would look good. i have seen some that are kinda like that and they look good. u can have the port firing down at the bottom. or u could even do a ball type box. u would get like a big beachball or somethin like that and glassit would look cool also. just some off the wall shit i was thinkin. one of these days shell be finished. emoji thats my new years resolution

As far as I know W6s dont, W7s DO however, because they need LOTS of space/air for just 1 of the 12s to reach it's full potential.

HEY I snapped some quick pictures real quick of my new setup I am working on. Although I have to take all the fleece off of the back seat piece because I decided I am going to put my xbox glassed in back there too. I also decided that I am going to put 2 7.2" screens above the two subwoofers, this will all start again on thursday. Will post more pics then, but for now, this is what i have done although I am redoing and adding on to most of it...

the back is how i did it the 1st time. the problem with that is after all the layers of glass and stuff, the fleece and filler shrinks back. since u have one side drying and pulling and nothing on the other. so for the second time changing it up i did like the first. didnt pull as much but i had to still grind down like 4 inches and just fill it with marglass to make it strong and solid. when u are doing the glass mix it slow drying and do alot of them. alittle each day. also i would check by pulling up the trim to see it it does pull. if it does might as well grind away before u get close to smoothing it out like i did. rookie mistakes i guess. but she looks good though. but just keep an eye on the pulling it will save u alot of wasted time and tire kicking... emoji let me know how it is goin

My first attemp at doing a fiberglass enclosure I did the same thing, but doing it in the car, that was my first mistake. When I cut it out and smoothed it out and tried to put it back in, it shrunk and warped a bit.

I just wish you the best of luck. I learned my leason doing it that way!

Deffinetly looks sweet though!

the back seat piece is not stretched yet fully. its just strecthed and stapled around the bottle brackets and amps but its all coming off. and that is not getting glassed in side the car. i stretched the fleece to damn tight it starts to rip some so i make sure i dont get any sagging or anything, trust me, i know what I am doing, i have done a ton of these boxes emoji

Oh I am not saying you don't know what your doing!

I have seen some of your boxes and I know you know what your doing!

Just saying that when I attempted that I failed! Wasn't all my fault, but I had to trash it...long story really! I learned my lesson trying to do it in the car.

I thought you were doing from the looks of the pics. Some do it that way, I was just saying mine didn't make it though...LOL!!!

Can't wait to see the finished project man! emoji
