I'm trying to install some 6x9 speakers in the back of my '95 GS but I have no idea how to get the pannel off that's covering the original speaker. I can only see two screws and once I take those out it still wont come out. Are there some hidden screws or is there some sort of trick to get that pannel off? I was also wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what kind of 6x9's would be a nice fit in the car, are there any that will not fit or anything in particular that I should look out for or that will give me trouble?

First I would like to say Welcome to the Board. This is a great place and is lots of fun. As for the panel look below for my summary of how to do it.

Take the bottom part of the back seat out there are two screws, fold the back part of the seat down there is one screw.. Then the panel will be free just pull it out because it's held in by clips. You may not have 6*9 pods in there if you are a GS without premium sound so you may have to chop the pod and hack it out to fit the 6*9s. Hope this info helps you.

Look at the bottom of the seat.. On the right and left side there are these black clips. You pull them out and it unlatches the seat just pull the seat up after that and pull it out.. And what I mean by the pods are.. That our pods are actually made for 5 1/4 but the actual pod looks like it can hold a 6*9 but it takes a fair amount of work with a dremel or hack saw. I had to do it on my speakers. I am happy with the results it worked out quite well. But there are times that I wish maybe I left it at 5 1/4 and put some component speakers in there and mounted some tweeters back there. If you plan to put subs in you really wont benefit much from the 6*9s, but if you dont plan on getting subs and you put the 6*9s in you will be really happy with the bass response especially if you get some good ones and put a nice 2 channel amp on it. I have a 4 channel amp pushing all the speakers in my car and its amazing. I also have subs in the back, but the vocals are nice and loud so not all the music is drowned out by bass.

IF you don't have the right pods for 6x9s I would suggest breakin down and buying 'em, because I ruined a good set of speakers when I was trying to mount them into my modified rear areas, they still sound ok, but have a screwdriver bit sized hole in each now..
