I'm going to start getting estimates for my damage in the nashville middle tn area. My damage is the hood, front fascia, and probably radiator mount. Also, i have a Greddy FMIC, so my front bumper is pretty hacked up.

1.) what should I look for in a body shop?
2.) when they see the hacked up front bumper, what are they going to do?

I went thru 3 paintshops and still got fucked over for my custom work. Trust no one unless you personally know them. That's me $.02 worth.

well...if its a shop with a good rep then you will most likely pay out the ass...you, generally, get what you pay for. Talk around with the local car people and see what they have to reccommend.

As for the bumper...if you tell them to leave it alone..they will...to make them less weary, jus explain why its hacked up.

I lucked out and found a place about 3 mins from my house...and they do absolutely awesome work.

Look at work they have done in the past in their picture books. Then, if possible, try to see one of these cars in person. You want a shop that does work that not only looks good right away, but more importantly, for years to come. Ask other local car guys. And most importantly, you get what you pay for. Oh, and a paint job is only as good as the prep work. Good luck man.

sometimes you can just look at the people, lol. if they are dirty looking, i wouldnt want them working on my car, like scrubby loooking doods. if the shop is clean looking on the outside and look at other cars around to see what they look like, if they look good, go for it

Try William's Body shop in hendersonville. They have a very good paint guy. I think he used to paint the Hunter's cars. 822-4741.
Also, Bradshaw's does good work too. 244-9898 for the one on 2nd and 865-8720 for the one in madison. I deal with mostly all the body shops everyday because I work for a parts dept, so I can vouch for them.

Well my car has been hit a shitload, more than I remember, but the best body shop I have found is a little country place outside of town. I went and talked to the guy( you can usually tell who is honest ) and he showed me some of his work.
Usually a big business is out to get you I have learned. Think small when looking for a good bodyshop and then make sure you ask around/ see pictures of their work.

thanks all! USAA will be paying for the work, so I think i'm gonna go for the best I can find---and I am still worried about the bumper but I'll just explain why it is that way and hopefully they'll be cool. Thanks again!

oh, and how long does this stuff usually take? 2-3 weeks? If the radiator support beam is bent, is the car done?
