If this hasn't already been posted.

If your top is not extending or retracting but you hear the motors turning:

1. Remove the Topstack motors, both right and left.
2. Remove the gear housing from the reversable DC motor body (4 5/32" hex screws)
3. Look to see if there is a shear pin still in place in the groove at the base of the gear.
If it is then you have a choice: open top manually or spend anywhere from $200 @
salvage yard to $471 at the local Satanic parts store. EACH! If pin is gone then
proceed...
4. Remove the retaining washer from the motor shaft on top of the beveled gear.
5. Carefully pull the gear from the shaft. (Should be a flat washer under the gear.Leave)
6. Punch out remaining shear pin from shaft
7. Install a 3/32" x 1/2" Roll or Tension pin evenly into shaft OVER flat washer metnioned
above.
8. Slide gear back onto shaft so the the grooves on the bottom of gear go over the new
pin.
9. Slide retaining washer over gear
10. Clean out gear casing to ensure removal of pieces of old shear pin.
11. Apply Gear Lube (bearing grease) to the large gear inside the case.
12. Re-assemble TopStack Motor and re-install into car.
13. VIOLA! Done and you saved a shit ton of money! Pins are about $0.10-0.15 each.

Hope this helps anyone in this situation!

So now at 44 what the hell do I do?

DAMN DAMN DAMN!! Busted! I hate the little 8 legged creatures! Got bit by one during First Friday Mass at a Catholic School I was going to. A few colorful words came out of my mouth during the Head Priests Sermon. I left the school not long after that. (due to other reasons as well) haven't been to tolerant of them since and I can't for some reason put the "Y" in when I know that it's supposed to be there! Thanks Youngin'! emoji
