I know some of you guys have cut out part of the "mouth" on the stock front to show off, or allow air to flow into the full FMIC on your car. I am getting a brand new front bumper and I can do this before it goes in for paint.
Do I need to remove the black support that is behind the front bumper to fully show off the FMIC?
Does anybody have the Greddy Big FMIC with the big pipe that runs in front of the FMIC, does it show off as well??? (because I don't want that)
Edit: Here are some pics, anyboyd have closeups or more details on what I need to do to do this?

Looks like you just cut that black part off.

CrazyEclipse has the big Greddy FMIC it looks pretty good imo.. heres a link to a pic of it. also see sig pic too.. We had to fab it in because it was made for a GST so the piping runs a little different. All we did was turn it upsidedown and now the pipe runs on the bottom in the front. I think it looks pretty nice like that. We were gonna cut the bumper to show more of the FMIC but the body guy said it might not be a good idea with the Stillen front because the bumper might move more because there isn't enough support. Well good luck with it.. post pics asap..

That was weird, I saw my sig pic when I opened the page, and thought, wow, I don't recall making a thread like this. lol
As far as the black support, yes, I had to take it off and trim it. Most guys here who have done that say that they just go without the black crash support, but I however just used a dremel to cut the support to allow it to not show when the mouth was cut. Can't help you on the second question. Best way to find out is to take off the front bumper and see.
