i dont recall anyone that i know of installing these. they LOOK nice...but at that price these seats along with all of the APC, and even DAD seats...are not DOT approved and may not hold up very well in a crash. just something to think about. yes, their cheap, but do you want to trust your life with cheap parts?

Have you ever seen a seat that is DOT approved? I have never ever seen any laws on seats (other then needing to have them), only seat belts/harnesses. Actually, i never heard of DOT approved seats untill a thread a couple weeks back. If seats were a big issue then when you get your car inspected, they would check them. Furthermore, they make expensive carbon fiber seats and fiber glass seats...does the price mean they are DOT approved?

Please prove me wrong in this, for i have never ever heard of DOT approval on seats, only seat belts/harnesses. I would like to think i am right, but i would love to be wrong, as it is something i would love to know before i get some seats.

BTW...the DAD seats are made in the same factory as Corbeu (or was it Sparco) seats. They are the same design with only different padding and, perhapse, the fabric.

Has anyone ever thought about the stock Acura RSX seats? Those things are bad ass! Plus if they come in a stock car they have to be "safe" IMO http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/roadtests/0107scc_acura/
then scroll down

NICE!

or the newer style celica seats...you can put a harness in em too...Look damn perty, come in a few colors, and are very comfy...and i guess they would be "DOT Approved" as well since they are stock.

seriously...find me laws people. emoji

I would only worry about it if you are purchasing a seat with designs made of barbwire by the crotch and razor blades as the back rest...And perhapse some sharp knives sticking out of your head rest. If you install them correctly you will be fine.

If you are in an accident that is rough enough where the seat breaks...that will most likely be the least of your worries...the primary worry being taking the vehicle that hit you out of your ass...or removing its bumper from your spleen.

If it says APC on them, dont get them. I HATE(if there was a stronger word then hate insert it there) APC. All the tools with APC sticks on their windshields, God help them for they dont realize what they are doing. If you want comfort with safety and style, go with the Acura seats or Newer Celica according to bucknutty. I would rely on stock something then most of these cheap aftermarket ones. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
